ade Kindar Martin, a worldwide high-wire walker (he’s American but lives in France), has bridged the two sides of the river Maine in Angers. In 20 minute-time, he walked on a 400-meter long high-wire, 25 meters above the motorway (closed for the purpose) and the river, linking in a very nice symbolic way the Angers old castle to the brand-new theatre le Quai. The theater was then inaugurated with the ribbon Jade had with him, by the Mayor of Angers in the presence of the French Minister of Culture.
The performance has been of much emotion, Jade walking in the sun, with the wind squally blowing (over 10km/h), in front of thousands of people holding their breath. A surrealistic show, performed by such a sympathetic and modest artist.
